The Children Images In Contemporary Oil Paintings

When we review all past art works, people never stop concerning and depictingfigures of children. Although the proportion of children’s image varies from differentepochs, these art works demonstrate the concern for children’s emotion as well associal features. Contemporarily, as the step of opening policy goes great change hastaken place in China, which hastens the commercial society. Therefore, thepresentation of design, artistic values and social connotation installed in children’sfigure has changed innovatively.This essay discusses main idea from three parts: The first part reveals children’sfigure occupies unique artistic value as a graphic symbol according to the past artworks. This part provide reference and history background for further discussionamong contemporary painting. In the second part, with the accumulation andpractices made since my enrollment, children’s figures in contemporary works areconcluded briefly by skills vary from artists. Artists are divided into three groups.The first group can be represented by Aixuan, Yanpin, Yuhong and Nanfang etc. whoare famous for realistic figures of children. The second group contains artists likeZhang Xiaogang, Tang Zhigang, Guojin, Guowei and He Duolin etc. most of whoseworks are symbolic. The third group is talked by analyzing cartoon figures paintedby Liuye, Chenke, Li Jikai and Ynagna etc. According to the major strength,particular works are deconstructed to discuss abundant narrations and metaphorsincluded the contemporary works. These works create dreamy fairy stories thatbridge the gap between nihilistic and realistic worlds. The third part studies artisticflavor thesis merged in contemporary paintings based on the elaboration form theformer two parts. Children’s figure, as a distinctive view, reflects the real worldwhere we live.Nowadays, fairy tales have become an attitude or kind of believe. Being merged infairy tales, being childish, being initiative and being loving are children’s charactersthat contemporary painters insist correlated with humanistic concerns in present time.Not only has it maintained the core spirit of children’s character known as“childishness” but also reveal the unparalleled artistic charm of Chinesecontemporary painting art.
