A Simple Research Of West Poetry In The End Of The Twentieth Century

The flower theme is an important content of Chinese traditional literature, studies on flower literature has been a long time.As one of the ’Four Great Poets in Zhongxing period’of Southern Song dynasty, Yang Wanli has a special favorite on flowers. He created a lot of poems on flowers with its keen insight and sensibility. There is over370poems,two odes,which titled with flowers,in his over4200poems,15ci and16odes on a preliminary statistics according to’Yang Wanli Ji JianJiao’. Besides,some poems just involved in description of flowers.In these floral works,Yang Wanli show us the diversity of the natural properties of flowers, and expressed his love of flowers whic have different characters that reflect the rich flower aesthetic awareness.This paper, on the basis of the classification of Yang Wanli’s creation of flower literary,it selected several flowers that the author writies in the largest number such as the plum flower, Begonia flower and the Peony flower to analysis his flower creation situation.It explorated the aesthetic properties, causes, value and limitations of Yang Wanli’s flower literature from both the flower’s natural attributes and humanistic attributes.The author fused the poetic theory of’Huo Fa’in his flower literature to pursuit fusion of floral image and poetry artistic conception,and harmony of flower imagery and individual spirituality,and regression of naive childlike innocence.He used rhetorical devices such as metaphor, personification and a unique combination of imagery, popular language arts of’Chengzhai body’to constructed a poetic natural world for us with a blend of natural features and aesthetic subject. From the poetic natural world, we are able to understand more in-depth of Yang Wanli’s poetic proposition and his admiration of self-spirit and independent personality. His great flower literature achievements has a close relationship with the influence of the traditional flower literature,the aesthetic awareness of the era,the author’s own utilitarian and non-utilitarian aesthetic thought and the development of song dynasty garden art and garden literature. Analyzing Yang Wanli’s flower literature, it can be found values in artistic aesthetic, Garden development and biological science,but it also has certain limitations on the themes and artistic conception.
