Dai Zhen is a textual criticism and thinker in Qian-Long period. This thesis ismainly divided into four chapters to discuss the influence and its contemporarysignificance in Dai Zhen’s Principle-desire Thought, the most representative part ofDai Zhen’s philosophical thought.Chapter1: Discuss Dai Zhen’s hometown, family background, the influence ofhis own rough experience to his Principle-desire Thought, and the background andorigin of his academic thought’s formation. He appeared in three changes of his lifeacademic research. This chapter analyzes the combination between these threechanges and his academic thought. In addition, this chapter reviews the academichistory of Dai Zhen’s transformation from a textual criticism to a thinker.Chapter2: Introduce and discuss "Reason and Desire Debate" in the innerConfucianism before Dai Zhen’s Principle-desire Thought. Analyze and interpret themain concepts of Dai Zhen’s Principle-desire Thought, such as“heavenly principlesare in reasonable human desires”、“don’t take personal advice as heavenlyprinciples”、“our body and thinking are humanity’s entity”、“balance the humandesires and moderate the human desires by heavenly principles”. Comment anotherimportant insight of Dai Zhen’s Principle-desire Thought, that is the significance ofsocial and intellectual History of Later Confucian’s “homicide by heavenlyprinciples”.Chapter3: Research the writing process and academic value of “Thehermeneutics on the meaning of words of Mencius”, a magnum opus in Dai Zhen’sPrinciple-desire Thought. Analyze the relation between “The hermeneutics on themeaning of words of Mencius” and another two books," original goodness " and "Introduction ". Elaborate the repercussions and academic evaluate after the adventof “The hermeneutics on the meaning of words of Mencius”. Research the origin of“The hermeneutics on the meaning of words of Mencius”and analyze the relationbetween the change of document version and academic atmosphere and ideologicaltrends. Chapter4: Discusses the influence and times significance of Dai Zhen’sPrinciple-desire Thought. Rethink the proposition of Cheng-Zhu’s “exist heavenlyprinciples and eliminate human desires” and DaiZhen’s “heavenly principles are inreasonable human desires”.Stress the alert of “heavenly principles are in reasonablehuman desires” and “moderate the human desires by heavenly principles” to“Materialism” flooding in present. Contemporary moral value system reconstructionshould value Dai Zhen’s “Principle-desire Thought”, excavate and learn thisprecious’ thought resources.
