As a woman writer in the1990s with distinctive feminist symbol,Lin Bai triggered warm debate in literary circle by her unique femininewriting. Until the presence of the long literary piece “All Blossom”, wefind shift of Lin Bai’s individual spirit in this novel. Lin Bai came outfrom her anxiety and mysterious temperament, and turned to all things onearth; moved from private space of women towards country, fromconfusing to wildness. In essence, this is a realm of freedom of Lin Bai.This is the spiritual value in Lin Bai’s novels, pursuing equality, freedomand the embodiment of female life will. Now studies of Lin Bai researchmainly concentrate in the feminist perspective, narrative angle andcreative transformation research. Therefore, it is undoubtedly necessaryto understand Lin Bai’s novels in the way of Taoist culture. In this paper,we try to discuss the connection between Lin Bai’s female life will andTaoist culture. What are the influence and enlightenment of Taoism onfemale writing? What is the inherit in Lin Bai “All Blossom”? All are theproblems tried to be solved in this thesis. By using Taoist view, I read andanalyze “All Blossom”, finding that many ideas in the composition aresimilar with the proposition of Taoism. Putting “All Blossom” into thecultural background of Taoist culture and analyzing Life will view in LinBai’s novels, will get a more profound understanding into the cultural connotation, and bring some new points of view in future reading of LinBai’s novels.Apart from the introduction and conclusion, the thesis is mainlydivided into three parts:The first part is natural spirits of Taoists in “All Blossom”. Theconsciousness of Lin Bai’s pursuing freedom of personality, rebellingtradition, advocating natural and respect to nature possessing distinctTaoist culture spirit."Natural" is a life attitude of Taoists, the highest stateof life."Natural" is von selbst, according to the original state ofdevelopment, without manipulation. For the man himself,"Natural"refers to human nature, namely, natural emotion of human beings. Thediscussion is unfolded from the nature of all things, natural humanity andrebelling tradition in this part, in order to seek the integrating pointbetween aesthetic ideal of Lin Bai and naturalism of Taoists. The second part is all living creatures’ carnival in big headperspective. Lin Bai builded an ideal survival shape by big headperspective, which is her ideal spirit and thinking of ideal survival mode.It is her promotion of spiritual shackles that being from innocent and pureto eigentlichkeit. Lin Bai gazed at the world with the help of this big headperspective, there are no moral dimension, no institutional restriction, allare for fun. This spiritual homeland full of original energy are same assurpass of Taoists. We can find Lin Bai’s value orientation under big head perspective: personality ideal and broad-minded attitude. The third part is the connection between female life will and Taoistculture. To Lin Bai, all sorts of feelings, memory and emotion inchildhood become her source of creation. Life experience is also thedriving force of creation. The Taoism argues that according with thenature and being opposed to feudal moral, which caters her survivalmodal. Therefore, Taoism is kind of positive guidance to the creation ofLin Bai. In this section, I am going to discuss the formation of female lifewill, influence of Taoist culture on female writing and practicalsignificance of female life will. One can see that Lin Bai’s pursuit to lifevalue is in agreement with that of Taoists.
