Murakami Haruki’s works point out that the spiritual loss and the accumulated individual violence of modern human are rooted in the violence of wars in history and the institutional violence in society system. Seeking for the path of spiritual salvation, an individual is exposed to the knowledge of the whole violence constitution, locating the root of violence in the recesses of soul. Eventually, it is through love that the soul is recovered. In his three pieces of works Dance. Dance. Dance., The Wind-up Bird Chronicle and Kafka on the Shore, the commonality of themes is path-seeking. Confronting the violence constitution, the destination of all the effort in path-seeking is spiritual salvation. In such a violence constitution, the violence of wars in history has deepened institutional violence in society, group or social violence then has strengthened the individual violence, and natural violence has interacted with taboo or psychological violence. Among all the forms of violence, the incidents of raping and killing should be classified as individual violence. In whole, group violence has activated the individual trial of path-seeking, during which the crime of group violence has been eliminated by individual violence. Eventually, spiritual salvation comes when the wish to be loved by the other has been elevated to the desirability of self, and the newborn hope has been obtained from love.
