This paper is intended by using comparative method to study the performance techniques between Shostakovich’s works for cello "Sonata in D minor" and Stravinsky’s works for cello "Italian Suite", analysis and understanding of the two songs from the macro (the musical structure) and micro (musical skills). First, by introducing and summarize the two composers’different life experiences to preliminary understanding the similarities and differences of their musical style and creative approach. Secondly, compare two works performance techniques, and make a detailed analysis and comparison. For example, the similar technical characteristics in clear and accurate note, clear and precision rhythm. Reflect the works’performance specifications and style in "neo-classical" period by summing these common technical characteristics, and then understand and master the whole works of this period. Finally, compare the different technical characteristics in this two different works-vibrato, analysis the different vibrato methods that used in different music image, different range, and different rhythmic pattern. By comparing the various different vibrato techniques to show each composer’s artistic creation features, further in the style of the music to have a rational grasp.
