The Analysis Of Liu Dehai’s"Chapter Of Pastoral"

The study object of this paper is the Pipa divertimento " Chapter of Pastoral" composed by Liu Dehai in the1990s. Starting from the composing background, this article systematically analyses the purpose of the composition, mood of the composition, playing techniques andmusic processing. By comparing the actual playing situation of the "Chapter of Pastoral"with others chapters (mainly with "Chapter of Life"), this study sums up the art direction ofthe "Chapter of Pastoral" in Liu Dehai’s career in composing and in particular, interpreted the impacts of the "Chapter of Pastoral" on the future trends of Pipa Art.Chapter one, summarizes the background of pastoral articles and analyzes the background and creative thoughts inherent in every works. Chapter two, by analyzing the music genre and mood that the work expressed this chapter compares and summarizes the performing techniques in Liu Dehai’s "Chapter of Pastoral". Chapter three grasps the artistic performing characteristics and interprets the emotion of the work precisely and conducts analysis from tone and breath. Besides, more attention will be paid to the controlling of relaxation andtenseness. Chapter Four, the artistic values of Liu Dehai’s the "Chapter of Pastoral". Based on Liu’s articles and the analysis above, this paper studied the connotations of the work, from which the author find enlightenment. By comparing with the composing thoughts of the"Chapter of Life", this study concludes that the "Chapter of Pastoral" embodies the composer’s deep reflection on national culture, which is also an approach of returning to the original expression of music.
