The study of psychology in personality and emotional cognitive processing is one of the hot topics in recent years. Before a large number of studies have shown that high neurotic individuals are more likely to produce all sorts of negative mood disorders, neurotic individual is the main personality dimension adjustment important aspects of mental health and physical health. Past research mostly focused on the personality structure and related research with other psychological variables, less involved in cognitive processing stages of integrated and systemic research. Based on this, this study attempts to discuss the different stages of cognitive processing, how dose the personality traits of neuroticism influence on cognitive processing emotional information bias, research hypothesis that high neurotic individuals may have some degree of cognitive bias, the deviation is not only exists in the information coding, storage stage, in the information extraction stage, stage of cognitive explanation or attribution may aslo have reflected. This research mainly around the attention bias, memory bias and explain to the three stages, and in three different stages have adopted different cognitive tasks.Experiment1through the emotion stroop paradigm, have different emotional valence words selected materials as experiment material, to test whether high neurotic individuals negative emotional words have attention bias, to examine a nervous to pay attention to the influence of processing stage characteristics. Experimental results found that.words type main effect (F (2,132)=0.24, p>0.05) and neurotic level main effect (F (1,66)=1.01, p>0.05) not significant; significant interaction between neurotic levels and types of words (F (2,132)=3.55, p<0.05)。 Further analysis found that, the high and low neurotic individuals in the negative words and are significant differences in the reaction time (t (36)=15.88, p=0.03),(t(32)=-24.22, p=0.00)。 high neurotic individuals to negative emotional reaction time was significantly longer than positive words, the negative words color naming task takes up high neurotic individuals more cognitive resources, attention to the negative words bias; Low neurotic individuals to positive emotional reaction time was significantly longer than negative words, color naming task to positive expression takes up high neurotic individuals more cognitive resources, there is attention to positive words bias.Experiment2it is through the part of speech to identify and free recall task to investigate whether the high neurotic individuals have memory bias about negative mood word, to investigate the characteristics of neurotic on memory processing stages influence. Experimental results found that, words type main effect significantly (F(2,120)=3.81, p<0.05); neurotic level no significant main effect (F (1,60)=0.58. p>0.05); word type and the level of neuroticism interaction was not significant (F (2,120)=0.04, p>0.05)。 high and low neurotic individuals between neutral and negative word memory quantity differences to show, Further analysis (t(31)=0.84, P<0.05) found that high and low neurotic individuals all of negative word memory quantity than neutral ones, high and low neurotic individuals all showed memory for negative emotional words bias.Experiment3through the interpretation of the ambiguous event task to explore whether high neurotic individuals interpretation of ambiguous events exist negative bias, to investigate the characteristics of neurotic interpretation of cognitive processing stages influence. Experimental results found that, high and low neurotic individuals in explaining the score to test significant difference on the T test,(t=4.78, p<.001), shows that high neurotic individuals in explaining the bias test scores significantly more than the low neurotic individuals, shows high neurotic individuals have negative interpretation of ambiguous events bias. The conclusion of this study is:Experiment1, high neurotic individuals to negative emotional reaction time was significantly longer than positive words, the negative words color naming task takes up high neurotic individuals more cognitive resources, attention to the negative words bias; Low neurotic individuals to positive emotional reaction time was significantly longer than negative words, color naming task to positive expression takes up high neurotic individuals more cognitive resources, there is attention to positive words bias.Experiment2, high and low neurotic individuals all of negative word memory quantity than neutral ones, high and low neurotic individuals all showed memory for negative emotional words bias.Experiment3, shows that high neurotic individuals in explaining the bias test scores significantly more than the low neurotic individuals, shows high neurotic individuals have negative interpretation of ambiguous events bias.
