The Inheritance And Development Of Haiyang Yangko Research From Multimodal Perspective

The research of modern linguistics is no longer confined to verbal level, instead a large number of non-linguistic factors are put into the research domain. For example, intonation、body movemen、image、color、sound equipment and many kinds of semiotic resources are used to the construction of speech meaning. Multimodal discourse is a mode of communication in which the media of audition、vision、 tactility and others proceed simultaneously.Dancing as an external language in the language system, dance—body language, has an intrinsic connection with multimodal discourse.This thesis conducts a research on the inheritance and development of Haiyang Yangko which is a synthesis of singing、dancing and drama by means of multimodal discourse analysis. On the foundation of its historical shape and dancing features, three kinds of identity group are identified, namely:"folk artist"、"semi-pro Yangko carrier and promoter"、"professional dancer" during the inheritance and development of Haiyang Yangko. Moreover, different groups have their own interpretations of Haiyang Yangko."Living fossil" of the folk art, Haiyang Yangko is yet endangered. Combined with the Haiyang Yangko’s development and current situation as well as its causes, this thesis is to find a solution targeted at each identity group to the inheritance and development of Haiyang Yangko through multimodal discourse analysis which shall analyze the different expressions of different identity groups. It will also put forward reasonable proposals for professional teaching and stage creation so as to offer forceful theoretical support for the development of Haiyang Yangko in different stages hereafter.
