The development of digital technology, multimedia technology, networktechnology, communication technology allows us to enter the "micro era." The changeof reading habits and the development of media are also leading us to the short textsand short videos as one of the main form of access to information. Micro film beginsto emerge in the eye shot of the public. It has draw the public attention in manyaspects such as the expression vector, the content and the mode of transmission.Unlike traditional movies, it forms a unique aesthetic characteristics by the inherentfeatures as its length,the short period of production, the reduction of investment andthe spreading by many platforms.Firstly, in the aesthetic content, the easy access to internet platform has made itconvenient for grass-roots groups to participate in the creation of micro film. Theyalso like to choose materials close to their lives to express the emotional problems orsocial issues to take full advantage of their imagination and skills, either by settingthe characters as socially marginalized groups or diversification of connotation.Secondly, in aesthetic performance practices, the limitation from the length ofmicro film has forces creators to continue the new exploration to a unique aestheticpursuit. They have to minimize the narrating in the creation. It generally starts with aconflict and uses a suspense to strengthen the narrative process. Micro film often usesclose-up or close shot as techniques of expressing the emotion and narration. Colorsare used as supplement to the narrative weakness of micro film to convey emotiontones directly to the viewer’s senses. Internal monologue and classical incidentalmusic are also initial aspects of sound usage. Micro film needs to seize the viewer’sinterest with the capacity of lens, composition, music and many other aspects whichcan also manifest the creator’s personality.Thirdly, from the aspect of Creation principle, content of micro film andregulatory issues, we can see some problems: lack of normative, the content is toocommercial, and lack of effective supervision. Therefore, enrich micro movie themeselection, deepen and improve art connotation and artistic quality of micro film hasbecome the main development path of micro film creation.
