Britain in18th century was at a critical stage from agricultural society to industrial society. The middle stratum, who played a important role in promoting British modernization, made a great difference to the transition of British modern society.It can be divided into three parts:In the first part, on the basis of the social background of18th century’s Britain, it analyses the division of social stratum and explains further the forming process of middle stratum and its development.In the second part, it shows the way people acted in political, family and social life in18th century, especially the people in the middle stratum such as businessmen, factory owners, the professional and so on.In the third part, after explaining the concept of stratum culture, it analyses the common cultural identity that exists in the lifestyle of British middle stratum in18th century and then it explores the culture implication of the lifestyle of British middle stratum in18th century.In18th century’s British middle stratum, their stratum culture was the symbol of their social status and was presented by their lifestyle. And different lifestyle can be considered as a emergence in practice. The middle stratum had their own special lifestyle. Even so, in the terms of culture implication, something similar, such as the view of wealth, value and life attitude, exists in most of their lifestyle.
