In the period of pre Qing, there were many nations in Guyuan in the southof Ningxia.Such as ancient Qiang people of Neolithic,people of Gui fang in shangand zhou period, Di qiang people, people of Xian Yun, people of Kong tong, peopleof wu zhi,Yiju, in spring and autumn and warrings states,Qing people and so on. Allthese peoples created a splendid culture and made a contribution to the earlydevelopment of Guyuan area. With the races living in the Guyuan area from theancient to the period before the establishment of Qing Dynasty as the research objectand social and political changes in shang and zhou period as the background, thisthesis will analyze profoundly the historical origin of the races living in the Guyuanarea, the development and the extinction process of ethnic regimes,the migrationand integration of the ethnic groups and its causes, the social formation and economicformation the people there had been in as well as the physical characters of ethnicmembers. In addition, the interaction and influence among ethnic groups under thepattern of multirace during the same period will be explored in this thesis.
