The Music Language And Emotional Expression Of The Song "Maternal Love"

Maternal love is an everlasting theme of mankind, which has been praised constantly by humanity in terms of art and music. Singing, as an artistic approach that is close to heart, perfectly expresses this simple yet sincere love. This thesis is mainly concerned with the interpretation, understanding and expression of the emotion from the song "Maternal Love", as well as the presentation of some discussions over the practical performance.Thesis consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, all the Chinese songs based on the "maternal love" during the latest40years are discussed as well as the background of the composing of the song "Maternal Love". Chapter two analyzes this song in musical form and lyrics composing separately; in order to understand the true intention, we interpret the emotional distribution of the song by combining these two aspects. During the third chapter, the "Maternal Love" performed by Liao Changyong is taken as an example to present the differences between the processing of voicing, breathing and pronunciation as well as the acoustic effects given by the final performance. Several discussions are presented in the end of this chapter, which focuse on the expression and understanding of emotion of the work by comparing it to the practical performance.
