Lexical Study Of Wuzixu Bianwen

There is no doubt that Dunhuang Bianwen Provided Valuable Information to theStudies of Ancient Chinese. We select the WuZixu Bianwen(Wu is shorter form) asthe research object and use4chapters to analyze the vocabulary of it.Chapter1Analysis and statistics of monosyllabic word and disyllabic word inWu. Except the Proper Noun， there are1044monosyllabic words In Wu and thosecan be divided into11word classes. There are1458disyllabic words in Wu that canbe divided into2types—64single morpheme words and other1394compoundwords. In this chapter， we’ll focus on the research of the compound words’ form andstructure， and also explain the Wu’s idioms with examples.Chapter2Research of meanings of words. In this chapter， we’ll discussdifferences between synonym and homograph， and the effect of polyseme andantonym in language expression.Chapter3Historical Research of the Wu’s vocabulary. We’ll investigate the age ofwords in Wu and figure out which words are ancient words， which are new coinedwords and which words have changed meanings. In addition， we compare Wu andmodern Chinese’ in the aspect of vocabulary and try to analyze the reason of thewords’ disappearance and transformation.Chapter4Summarize the whole research and draw a conclusion of it.
