In this paper, based on combined results of previous studies collected from "ancient stonematerials documenting”, I will study the historical behavior of the northern folk Buddhist idol inmedieval period. The parts are consists of statues traceability, possible conditions, staging, thecharacteristics of the Subject and object and causes so on.The times are divided into three phases:(a) brewing preparation period (late Eastern HanDynasty to the Northern ago);(b)mass start, the development period (Northern Wei);(three),flourished period (the late Northern Wei Dynasty to the Sui and Tang).Start with the subject matter focuses on the Buddha statues, Maitreya, Amitayus, theBuddhist Goddess of Mercy and other idols, not for everything, but from the perspective ofBuddhist scriptures and other literature, combined with my collection of historical materialsstone, summarized the various features of the idol, to unfold around the main issues discussed.And from that the main aspects of statues statues body, according to historical datasummarized common psychological tendencies stone medieval northern lower classes:1)practicality;2), patriarchal;3), hybridity sex;4), inclusive.By comparison with other sectors and then refine their psychological differences:①Spiritis faith;②non-dominant body;③heavy behavior and less restraint.Finally, from external policies of the rulers and Monks advocate, the people of the upperinner psychological of both in-depth analysis of Buddhism in northern folk rise and decline ofBuddhism idolatry reasons.By statues of idols superficial understanding of the main study, found that "making statuesbehavior is a concrete manifestation of idolatry, statues theme is the external form of idolatry,Statues vow in the text is the substance of idolatry."...
