Music hearing, as an indispensable part of music practices, is a basic task in solfeggio. Training in learning music pieces, the origin of music practices, will help students to enhance the ability of recognizing and understanding music at a high level. On the basis of analyzing teaching methods in the book "Ear Training-An Approach through Music Literature", this article further presents the teaching modes of applying music pieces in ear training.In this paper, the author focuses on illustrating the supporting role of music hearing in music practices as well as the teaching modes of applying music pieces in ear training, through analyzing the tutorial "Ear Training-An Approach through Music Literature". It elaborates the practical significance of such teaching methods via combining relevant studies both in China and abroad, with the enlightenment from tutorial. From the perspective of teaching principles, and moreover, in order to illustrate the important role of solfeggio in cultivating students’abilities of performing and composing music, this paper takes practical examples of the cases in teaching and discusses the idea of applying music pieces in ear training in scientific and effective ways.So far, relevant research in China and abroad is very broad, from emphasizing on the theoretical aspects, such as music psychology, to in-classroom teaching practices. This paper, from the perspective of music hearing training, basing on the analysis of tutorial, expects to promote the integral development of music hearing through studying the teaching modes of applying music pieces in ear training.
