《The Observational Research On Feng-xian Folksong Opera’s Inheritance》

Feng-xian folksong opera is an opera developed on folksongs in Shanghai, from1950s. No one have heard of it since1984, when the opera’s troupe was merged to shanghai opera troupe, for20years. On May2007, Feng-xian folksong was re-recognized as Shanghai’s non-material cultural heritage. This essay is about the Feng-xian folksong opera itself, its statue as non-material cultural heritage, local government’s action on protecting it, its inheritors, its ways of inherit, its development, its active area and its popularity.This essay focus on the inheritage of Feng-xian folksong opera, using musical text analyzing tech to analyze the text material collected from interview and documents. In the essay, I try to analyzed the musical essence in the operas played in governmental activities,which reflects the several issues on the protection of musical non material cultural heritage. These issues include the development of nationality description in the opera, governmental activities in the musical heritage protection and its influence. After all, I hope to provide a live case study on the influence of government on the musical non material cultural heritage form a music anthropology angle of view.
