Liu Cixin is one of the best novelist of Chinese contemporary science fiction. Hehas published more than thirty short stories and eight long stories. The Three Bodytrilogy achieved a new summit of Chinese science fiction which is his latest work.The mass media continue focusing on the popularity of Three Body trilogy.The first chapter discussed how Authur C. Clarke influence Liu Cixin in threeways by the means of comparative study. Then a brief summary of Chinese SF historytold that why Liu Cixin rose among SF writers. In a word,this chapter gave anaccurate position to Liu Cixin during SF history.The second chapter focus on Liu Cixin’s fiction itself after the macro analysis ofchapter one. The main materials are Liu’s latest works:the second novel and the thirdnovel of Three Body trilogy. The paper tried to explain readers’ strange responses afterclose reading. Then a conclusion was led to two constructions of determinacy andindeterminacy in two novels. This chapter used multiple theories to explain theenormous attraction in novels.The third chapter went deep into the sociological meaning behind Liu Cixin’sfiction and answered two questions that what the literatural schema was and what theworld’s schema was in Liu’SF.
