As the material carrier, pronunciation is an important part of language. Each languageand dialect has its own sound system and pronunciation rules. Because of differences exist indialect and English sound systems and pronunciation rules, when learning Englishpronunciation, learners will tend to bring the dialect pronunciation habits into English, thusaffecting the acquisition of English pronunciation.Although many scholars have studied the influence of dialects on the acquisition ofEnglish pronunciation, most of them study dialects which have distinct differences withPutonghua. But for those dialects which are very close to Putonghua, such as Jinzhou dialect,few people notice that they will have an impact on the acquisition of English pronunciation.This thesis will be on the basis of previous studies, focusing on the investigation and analysisof the influence of Jinzhou dialectical accent on the English pronunciation.On the basis of the Contrastive Analysis Hypothesis and the Language Transfer Theory,this thesis investigates30pupils who are from Jinzhou dialectical areas through the methodsof the questionnaire and the perception test, aiming at exploring the influence of Jinzhoudialectical accent on the acquisition of English pronunciation, and the causes of the influence.Moreover, for teachers and students, the thesis also discusses how to deal with the influencecaused by the dialect in the actual teaching and learning, and then, the thesis makessuggestions for improving the level of local English pronunciation teaching, thus teachers canmore effectively help students master the correct English pronunciation, and then lay a goodfoundation for further learning.The research results show that Jinzhou dialectical accent produces the negative transferon the acquisition of English pronunciation. Mainly reflects in the following aspects: studentsin Jinzhou dialectical areas use the dialectical final e [] to replace the English vowels//and/:/; use the dialectical compound final ie [i] to replace the English diphthong//; use thedialectical initial sh [] to replace the English consonant/s/; use the dialectical initial zh [t] toreplace the English consonant/z/; use the dialectical initial sh [] to replace the Englishconsonant//; use the dialectical initial d [t] to replace the English consonant/e/; use thedialectical initial sh [] to replace the English consonant//; use the dialectical initial r [] toreplace the English consonant//.This study shows that in the process of Jinzhou students’ acquisition of Englishpronunciation, the dialectical accent produces the effect of the negative transfer. Therefore,when teaching and acquiring English pronunciation, both teachers and students should pay attention to differences in Jinzhou dialect and English sound systems and pronunciation rules,in order to reduce the negative transfer’s effects of the dialectical accent on the acquisition ofEnglish pronunciation.
