As the most abundant and widely popular among allthe operas in Ming Dynasty,‘Sixty kinds of plays’ occupies a decisive position. So theresearch has became numerous and complicated. However, only few scholars focus on thehistorical plays in ‘sixty kinds of plays’. The article has observed and studied differentviews on ancient and modern, discussed about the concept of historical plays in eachperiod of Chinese and foreign historical plays, summarized and identified the scope ofhistorical plays in ‘sixty kinds of song’, basing on the controversial concept of historicalplay.The article has analyzed the ideological contents of historical play and divided22historical plays into four patterns: the history drama of education, the history drama ofemotion, the history drama of reflection, the history drama of current, basing on identifyingthe range of ‘sixty kinds of song’ in historical play, combining historical environment invarious periods and playwright’s different journeys. The article wants to understandliterature phenomenon of maintaining the ethics and reflecting the reality by history andethics-focused thoughts inside, through wandering in ethics, religion, love, affection,reflection, current events of historical play.The third part mainly analyzes the artistic achievement. The article has observed thevirtual and real by combining different focus of historical data and fiction in Ming dynasty.The article has analyzed the character in different works and presented differentpersonality characteristics in the same series of figures and recept implication of figure, bycontacting with the image of dutiful son, lucretia, loyal courtier, schemer, frustrated literatiand the liberation of women. Finally, the article has appreciated the fresh and changingplot through analyzing the perspective of unique and the distinctive charm throughanalyzing the choice of subject matter and bold ideas of plot.The final part of the article has examined the adaptations of historical play and theinfluences of the models on faithfulness and the historical rise and fall, and has fullyunderstood the value and status of historical drama, so as to get more attentions andresearch on the historical play in ‘sixty kinds of plays’ and reproduce its glorious history.The article has observed the ideological content and the artistic achievement of the22historical plays in ‘sixty kinds of plays’ and fully understood theirs development and spread by summarizing and comparative analysis, in order to promote the22historicalplays in ‘sixty kinds of plays’ transmission. Although some of them are general, the22historical plays in ‘sixty kinds of plays’ as the product of the age must contain traces ofhistory and also play an important part in the spread and development.
