A Study Of Paiting Poems In The Literati Gat Herings Of Yuanyou Period

In the Yuanyou period of Northern Song, Sushi as the core of the scholars of this period including Huangtingjian, Zhanglei, Chaobuzhi, Ligonglin, Wangshen and Guoxi gathered for senventy-two times. In these gatherings thirty three literary creations and one hundred thirty three painting poems were created. The creations of painting poems in the literati gatherings are a literary phenomenon which should be studied.The paper studied painting poems in the literati gatherings of Yuanyou period, discussed the relation between gathering responsory and poetic creation and explored the subject matter of the painting poems. The paintings of Yuanyou literati have the mind of themselves. The paper selected the representative landscape flowers and birds, characters, dead wood, bamboo and stone and analyzed the unique feelings of ego subject. In the mode of artistic creation, the artistic sentiments of literati in Youyuan period affected directly the way of poems painting creation. The combination of poems painting and varieties of art forms has appeared in the gatherings. In terms of expression pattern the poem paintings of Yuanyou literati emphasized the men instead of the paintings. They talked about the relation between the original singer and the echoer and adopted the way of one-to-one and one-to-many.At the same time, the literati’s competition in poem painting promotes the new variations in individual poems. The most distinctive is "Huangtingjian style" and the conscious of "nicely" in Sushi’s prose-styled poetry. Therefore the study on poem painting possesses a certain reference value to understanding the literati artistic life in Yuanyou period and traits of high culture. It also has positive effects on group responsory and new variation of individual poetic style.
