Lingjiatan site is located at the southeast of Anhui province, along the Yuxi River, north beach of Yangtze River. After six times of excavation, we acquired abound of and unique cultural contents of Lingjiatan Culture. On the basis of predecessors’ hardwork and excavator’s original materials, the author integrated the stratigraphy, seriation and cultural factors analysis to arrange the potteries and Jade Huang into a evolving succession. We found that the Lingjiatan Culture can be divided into two periods, the earlier phase and the later phase, both of them can be continually divided into another two smaller stages. The relationship between the phases was relatively close. Sorting out its pottery, jade article, stone implements, sacrificial altar, graves and settlememts and the similar cultural factors which existed in the contemporaneous cultural type and cultures, like Gugeng-Houjiazhai Type, Huangshanzui Type, Xuejiagang Culture, Beiyinyangying Culture, Hongshan Culture, Dawenkou Culture, Songze Culture and Liangzhu Culture. As a result, the author cleared up the multi-cultures’factors, whose originals and the directions on the Lingjiatan Culture. To be a surprise, the author found out that up to two-thirds of the site’s cultural factors were directly or indirectly influenced by those outer cultures, only nearly one-third of factors originated from the local traditions. Kinds of cultural factors gathering on the Lingjiatan site, highlighted the importance and nature of cultural Melting Pot, but on the contrary we also can found that the outer cultures almost had scarcely Lingjiatan’s cultural factors, and Lingjiatan’s dominant factors did not transmission remarkably. Even so, Lingjiatan’s superior geographic location placed the site on the unavoidable way of multi-cultural exchange. So, the author concluded it was the cultural acceptor and cultural transmission station. At the same time, the author discussed the possible routes of cultural exchange.Lingjiatan Culture was one of the preparations in building the Chinese civilization as well, such as the upcoming of the sacrifice altar, burials indicated social division and classes forming, jade articles’special meaning in the formation of Chinese civilization, etc. There is no doubt that Lingjiatan Culture was the harbinger of Chinese civilization.
