Attentional bias refers to the high sensitivity to specific stimuli and accompanying selective attention to information.Or,subjects notice particular stimuli much easily or can not distract from specific stimuli relative to other stimuli.generally speaking, there are two reasons that lead to attentional bias, first,it is particular characteristics the stimuli has,for example, people prefer to notice and perceive stimuli which is threatening to them, which is the tendency people evaluate and can ensure human race multiply.the second reason is the trait people themselves have, individuals with certain characteristics will exhibit attentional bias on the processing of specific information/or example, people with anxiety disorders or mood disorders tend to focus on the threat information than normal individuals. Self-esteem is an important personality of the individual, refers to the overall evaluation of the individual’s self-worth and emotional experience after soon. For middle school students, the development of self-esteem is not only affected by society, school, family and other external factors, but also affected by their own cognitive model which is internal factors. attentional bias of middle school students provide new clues for us to explore their development of self-esteem.The study is divided into two parts, the first part is screening subjects.we use Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale to screen high and low self-esteem groups of junior high school students,.the second part is the behavior experimental,This part mainly test different attentional bias to interpersonal information bet different between high self-esteem and low self-esteem groups.the first experiment selects real human faces with different facial emotional as material, the second experiment selects words with different interpersonal emotional valence as material, the two experiments are associated to discuss attentional bias between junior high school students with high and low self-esteem.and compare the differences under conditions with two kind of materials. The conclusions are as follows: 1.the high self-esteem group has shorter reaction time of happy faces which contain interpersonal accepted meaning than calm faces and angry faces, has no significant difference in anger and calm faces. The low self-esteem group has shorter reaction time of anger faces which contain interpersonal rejected meaning than happy faces.,has no significant difference both in happy and calm faces, anger and calm faces This indicate that high self-esteem students displayed the attentional bias to happy faces, while low self-esteem students only exhibit attentional bias for angry faces when presented simultaneously with happy faces.2.Regardless of the contract face is anger or calm face, the high self-esteem group’s attentional bias deviation of happy faces is significantly bigger than low self-esteem group.this indicate that the high self-esteem group is more vigilant to the happy face compared to low self-esteem group.Low self-esteem group’s attentional bias deviation of anger faces is obviously bigger than high self-esteem group only when contract face is happy face.3. Only when contract word is neutral word, high self-esteem group has shorter reaction time of accepted words than rejected words, this indicate that rejected words neutral have a greater emotional arousal than neutral words and greater advantage in capturing the attention of individual. So,attentional bias to accepted words is eased.low self-esteem group has shorter reaction time of rejected words than accepted words when contract word is neutral word.4.Only when contract word is rejected word, high self-esteem group’s attentional bias deviation of happy faces is significantly bigger than low self-esteem group.there are no remarkable difference in attentional bias deviation between high and low self-esteem group.
