Self-esteem is a core composition of ego structure, bringing extensive influence on one's cognition, emotion, motivation, behaviors and other personality characteristics, also having important practical significance. It was found that low self- esteem was related to many clinical psychological problems such as depression, anxiety and substance use, interpersonal relation, etc. As the developing cognitive psychology ,further researches been carried out with purpose of exploring the respective effect of self-esteem on cognitive processing ,finding the trait of the cognitive processing of individuals with low self-esteem to enhance people's self-esteem and the mechanism of cognitive processing bias. Although having important practical significance, the study didn't make any achievement. As the first step of cognitive process, Attentional Bias in individuals with different self-esteem levels start to be paid attention by some researchers. Based on a great deal of former relevant researches of self-esteem, this research carried out serial studies.In the first of theoretical analysis section of the present dissertation, the author mainly described the definition of self-esteem, the measurements of self-esteem,the the function of self-esteem on the mental health and the advancement of the self-esteem research in the perspective processing. Based on a great deal of former relevant researches ,the research constructed the paper.In the experimental analysis section of the present dissertation, according sociometer theory, the study developed a emotion stroop task and cue-target task with the purpose of exploring The Characteristic and Mechanism of Attentional Bias for Social Information Among People with Low Self-Esteem, using attentional bias paradigm in depressive and anxiety disorders for reference.Finally, based on the results of these 3 empirical researches step by step, the following conclusions can be made in this dissertation study:(1)There existed slow effect in emotional stroop effect. In the emotion stroop task, the sequences of the presence maked effect on the emotional stroop effect.The respective presence of emotional words and neutral words is in keeping with the emotional stroop effect.(2)Generally speaking ,people take note of the negative stimulus, but people with low versus high self-esteem pay more attention on the negative stimulus on Social Information.(3)Individuals with may low self-esteem have difficulty in disengaging attention from the negative emotional stimulus on Social Information not in facilitating it.
