The Research On The Relationship Between Traditional Culture And Socialist Culture With Chinese Characteristics

As the influence of “cultural soft power” becomes important, the issue about Chinesecultural construction is aroused wide attention gradually. Culture full of ethnic characteristicsand national cohesion is the main sources to build culture. The paper explores the similarityand difference between traditional culture and socialist culture with Chinese characteristics byusing the current “Craze for Traditional Culture” and sticking to socialist culture with Chinesecharacteristics so that the proposals to build modern culture full of vigor, creativity, nationalcohesion and international influence can be made.The paper can be divided into five chapters. The Foreword mainly elaborates the researchbackground of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics, the current research into socialistculture with Chinese characteristics and traditional culture in China, the research purposes,the research significance and the research methods, and concludes the basic definition ofsocialist culture with Chinese characteristics, its current construction situation, and advancedculture, harmonious culture, traditional culture’s influence on modern cultural transformation,traditional culture’s influence on the construction of socialist culture with Chinesecharacteristics and cultural security. Chapter One analyzes the definition of culture anddefinition of traditional culture and their basic special property, and explores the factorsinfluencing socialist culture with Chinese characteristics, and concludes the positive resourcesof traditional culture. Chapter Two elaborates the basic definition of socialist culture withChinese characteristics, its basic features and its establishment procedure. In the process ofconclusion, Chapter Two explores the fact that the CPC made use of the traditional culture indifferent historical stages. Chapter Three mainly explores the similarity and differencebetween the traditional culture and socialist culture with Chinese characteristics. The innersimilarity between them can be concluded in three aspects such as from the mode of thinking,moral ontology and “New Generation”; from the social values, groups spirit and patriotism;from the national spirit, highest pursuit for harmony of all things and harmonious culture.However, there are still some differences between them, such as the ruling class’ ideology and service for people, the traditional group spirit and modern humanism.
