Windstorm is one kind of natural disasters. Although windstorm could not workon major disasters in the Ming dynasty, it could not be overlooked. At the early stageof the Ming dynasty, the windstorm frequency was not high. Late but the father, thefrequency of windstorm became higher and higher with more and more harm. In thecoastal regions, it was affected by the monsoon, easy to cause windstorm, tended tooccur in the autumn; And in the north inland, it was affected by the Siberian highpressure belt, easy to form wind haze, tended to occur in the spring and autumnseason.Windstorm and wind haze not only destroyed houses and flooded farmland, butalso produced the population casualties; People had suffered losses of living life andproperty. Windstorm had negative influence in the stability of the society and causedgreat social political and economic losses. Since people was deeply influenced by the" The theory of Calamity Punishments by Nature", the rulers often took measuressuch as sacrificed to cultivate one’s morality, stated current affairs, adjusted policy,overhauled management and so on to eliminate the scourge in response to thewindstorm. These measures had played a positive role in reforming and perfecting thepolitical patter. Like other disaster, at the same time, the windstorm was easy to beused as a tool for political struggle to affect the evolution of political pattern in Mingdynasty.
