Faure is the most influential and representative composer in the creation field of French art songs in the second half of the nineteenth Century.He writes more than100art songs, including seven vocality suits and three single albums whose titles are "20melodies",which makes him known as the French Schuman. The elegant and smooth tune,the subtle and deep emotion and the concise style are reflected in his opus that has elegant and delicate characteristic of the French.He doesn’t stick to the traditional style in his opus,but continues the lyrical Romanticism and at the same time, integrates the classical creation spirit. He creates the glorious era of the French art songs and he is a deserved representative figure of the French art songs.The French national peculiar romance is embodied in his art songs.He always keeps his unique and creative style,in pursuit of music essence and self promotion.The "Moonlight" is his masterpiece.We can analyze his singing style and characteristics through the understanding of "moonlight",which will give us some help when we sing moonlight.This article is divided into three parts:The first part:It tells Faure’s status in French music history, which is made of two parts.The first is his life story and his status in the history of French music;the second is analyzing the background of moonlight.The second part:It analyzes the musical noumenon of "Moonlight".
