The Research For The Relationship Of Characters In Chi Li’s Novels

Chi li is an excellent authoress in contemporary Chinese literary field, and also animportant representative of “the new realistic novels” writers. In addition, Chi li hasinvolved into literary field more than thirty years, hence she wrote many popular novelslike:"Worried Life,""With pleasure you shout,"“The lingering of ice and fire”，and”hercity”. Throughout Chi li’s literature, the display of creative thought and artistic style are allchanged with the passage of time; the characterization of the characters become even morefullness. These changes are closely linked with the increase of writer’s own experience,and also contain a constantly exploring and thinking of Chi li for individual life and living.Moreover, literary field has never stopped for the research of Chi li’s literature. Althoughthe quantity of literature is huge, the research angle is slightly a single run and the herd aretoo much. Therefore, based on the a detailed analysis of the specific works, this paperdepth study the perplexing relationship between characters of the novels. Hence accordingto use this relationship as clues; and combine with the writer’s own life experience, themood of the times and creative consciousness; the features of the relationship of characterscan be discussed and the main reason for its formation will be sought.There are three main parts in this paper, which are introduction, main body andconclusion. The part of introduction is built by literature review, research clues and theframework of this paper. In addition, main body was divided into three chapters. The firstchapter will start from the relationship of family ethics, and focus on the "absence" ofparents and the “run away” of children as the research key; the unique relationship betweenparents and children in Chi li’s novels will be discussed. The second chapter was dividedby gender, this part will analyze the characters’ alliance or confrontation relationshipbetween men and women in Chi li’s novels. According to the evolution of the plot of “killwife” and “kill husband”, the awakening of female consciousness will be found in chi li’screation thought. Moreover, in the third chapter, based on the comparison of intellectualsand citizen, it can be reflected that chi li is greatly admired for the citizen-centered culture spirit. The gap between two is also finally disappear by “daily mundane”. In the last part ofconclusion, the efforts and contribution of Chi li will be summarized to the new realisticnovels, and the shortcomings in this paper also will be pointed out.
