Research On Language-image Relationship Of Concrete Poetry In Taiwan

Concrete Poetry, as the name suggests, is the poetry that combines poem characters with images or image techniques. Therefore, it can realize the association between language text and image in a way. In the current era, literature is faced with the challenges of visual culture, while Concrete Poetry is becoming the favorable platform to research the relationship between language and image.Concrete Poetry in Taiwan is an outstanding representative in Taiwan’s modernist and post-modernist poetry genres. Since the1950s, the poets in Taiwan never stop their practice and innovation. It is an expanding and deepening process of the relationship between language and image. Based on the relationship between language and image, my research will discuss the boundary of the Concrete Poetry, the rheology of history, art implies and the significance of literary history from many aspects.In the first chapter, I will analyze the development and artistic features of Concrete Poetry from the aspect of rhetoric means. For Concrete Poetry, Metaphor is not only a rhetorical means but also a cognitive thinking mode. In the second chapter, my paper will describe the diversified Concrete Poetry from the aspect of medium changing. Along with the development of medium, the development space for Concrete Poetry is much wider. In the third chapter, the value of Concrete Poetry in the literary history and the important role of it in the literary transformation of Taiwan will be discussed. Although Concrete Poetry has a lot of value, its limitations can not be ignored.
