As Lamps and lanterns are the necessities of People’s Daily life, they not only have the functions of lighting, also have the functions of decorating the environment, and play an important role in social and cultural development. Han Dynasty is the first peak in the development of China’s lamps and lanterns. Despite being located in the southern border of Guangdong and Guangxi region, there is also a great development in the Han Dynasty. Lamps appear lately in Guangdong and Guangxi and are first appeared in the western Han Dynasty. Under the influence of the Central Plains culture, there are also unique, vivid, superb technology, high-tech lighting in the Guangdong and Guangxi, Called fine arts. On the basis of archaeological finds, the lamps and lanterns for archaeological research, not only for us to understand the development of lamps and lanterns in the region, social life, culture and science and technology level is of great significance, but also for our research in the history of lamps and lanterns, craft art history from the han dynasty, history, social life, ideological and cultural science, even in today’s society is of great significance.This paper has collected185pieces of lamps unearthed in Han Dynasty, and they all are found in archaeological report, mainly for the tombs. The paper uses typology approach, and combines with historical literature to analyze social and living conditions refracted by lamps. Simul taneously, the paper combines with the multi-disciplinary knowledge of history, art, aesthetics, etc. So we can spy on the carrying value.
