Xiao Qian is a writer who has a unique writing style in the history of Chinese modern literature. He is good at to apply children’s angle of view in his short stories, and he likes using children’s pure perspective to see the real outside world. With a naive childishness viewing the adults’complex lives, the novels can reflect the pure and beautiful children’s world, and reveal the indifferent and cruel social reality. This article attempts to explore the narrative characteristic and aesthetic characteristic in Xiao Qian short novels from children’s angle of view. According to the theories of narrative and the history of children’s discovery, we can dig up the writer’s deep thinking on life and society under the surface of children’s perspective.Chapter one, after the introduction of the meaning of children’s angle of view, the research summary of Xiao Qian short novels with children’s perspective, and the origin of Chinese children’s discovery from late Qing Dynasty to the May Fourth Period, Xiao Qian children perspective novels are classified and summarized.Chapter two discusses the narrative characteristic in Xiao Qian short novels, such as the innocent narrative language, the amusing imagination and the elaborate details. Chapter three analyzes the aesthetic characteristic in the short stories. There are contrastive tension, the effect of irony, including verbal irony and situational irony, and lyricism. Lyricism means the writer keeps a psychical distance from the children narrator and the ending of the stories are left blank, so the writing can convey an implicit special aesthetic style.
