Artist Image Study In Kafka’s Work

In the20th century world literature, Kafka is undoubtedly one of the hottest stars. The depth of his thoughts, his lonely character, his unique technique in writing, and the ambiguity of his work are always been the subjects of literature studies and debates. Kafka’s writing career is very short, and what he left to us is not much. But still we can see so many different kinds of artists are repeated showing up in his text, some of them are singers, some of them are acrobats, some of them are painters, and even some of them are starving artists......This is a big group that cannot be ignored. The full text is divided into six parts, including introduction, body of four chapters, and conclusion. The first part is introduction, mainly introduces the influence of Kafka, domestic study of Kafka so far, and the significance of topic selection. Text first chapter explains the definition of "arts" and "artists", and generalizes the typical image of the artist in the western writers’works. Chapter Two introduces the Kafka’s perception of art creation and audience, and Nietzsche’s important influence on Kafka, which is the necessary premise interpret Kafka’s creation of artist image. Chapter Three divided Kafka’s artist image into four categories, namely the aloof and proud, cold secular, anxiety and fear, face death unflinchingly, and summarizes the type characteristics of these four types of artist. Chapter Four explores deep connotation of Kafka’s image creation of artists, they show Kafka’s absurdist technique in writing, they show us the dilemma of survival, they also are the perfect reflection of Kafka’s literary view. The last part of the text is a conclusion of the whole article.
