The Movement Of The Heavens:The Rise Of Tide Consciousness In The Late Qing Dynasty And The Early Republic Period(1895-1925)

Under the context of times of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic period, the Chinese traditional classical world for thousands of years,which was established by Confucician classics studies,was broken.And some marginal or external ideas and concepts moved from the periphery to the core of Chinese ideological circle since then.A linear sense of history and a progressive and evolutive view of history made the Tide Consciousness,such as the trend of the world and the trend of the times,become a new Tianming of the time.At first, the Tide Consciousness was a new civilization and world concept of the scholar bureaucrats in late Qing Dynasty.Then,it eventually impacted on people’s judgment on the evolution of politics and society,the confidence on historical progress and the origin of utopia imagination on future. The Tide Consciousness which was developed in a changeable and evolutive time was characterized by the optimistic,progressive and jumping, subjective times atmosphere.Moreover,the awareness of unexpected development and unpredictability in the Chinese traditional classical was swept clean away and the traditional Chinese literati lost their authority of transcendence by addition.Meanwhile,the conversion between the old and new intellectuals,the moral changes and the transfer of social power were triggered on the entire society during the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic period.
