A Study On Rational Concept Of Zhang Dongsun

The rational concept is one of the most important and basic concept of western culture and academic.As one of the most influential philosopher in The twenty or thirty’s of the last century of China, his view of rational concept has been influenced by the western culture, also by traditional Confucianism. Moreover, for Zhang,the conception of reason has radiated far into epistemology, axiology ethics and many applications and perspective, this is a significant part of his theory.Zhang is not only a knowledgeable scholar but also a patriot.In the study of rational,based on the thorough understanding of the traditional Chinese philosophy,he realized that it is a general trend for China to learning western culture.But an even more fundamental is to learn the rational concept of western country. At that time,this point were accepted by some scholars, but compared with the contemporary philosopher, Zhang Dongsun not only has unique insight to see the importance of reason, also divided reason into reason of Tiao Li(order) and reason of intellectual, the former is mainly talk about development of reason in Chinese and It’s characteristic;the latter focuses on the development of rationality in the West and explain why the former has the advantage over the latter. He pays more attention to the unity of the two part than the difference between the two, linking theory with practice, and eventually lead to the construction of the ideal society.Although Zhang has no experiences studying abroad in Europe and the United States,he has more mature view of western philosophy than his contemporaries philosophers. On the construction of an ideal society, he provides theoretical support, namely, reason of Tiao Li(order) and reason of intellectual, and also put forward a number of concrete proposals and measures.His rational thought is beyond the era’s eyes, is related to many fields, such as society, culture, psychology, education etc.. His contribution is not only for provide the correct way to understand rational knowledge, reveals the rational and scientific, rational and democratic,rational and progress of the real meaning, but also provides a valuable spiritual wealth for today.
