In order to explore how the self has impact on the acculturation, this research focuses on Chinese international students in college, exploring how the self construals influence on cross-culture adjustment according to the social support. In the first place, questionnaire was used in the quantitative research.199participants were examined, inquiring the relationship among the variables. After that, the semi-construct deep interviews of the10interviewees were used to verify the outcome from the data. At last, the discourse analysis were used to do the interview study. The results from both researches were:1independent self construals were positively related to the socioemotional support,2) significantly positive correlation between the dependent self construals and the instrumental support was showed in the correlation analysis,3)socioemotional support was positively related to the mental health,4) independent self construals had significantly forward influence on the mental health and the life satisfaction,5) mental health could be predicted by socioemotional support to a significant degree,6) independent self construals had the forward influence on the life satisfaction, and the instrumental support existed the negative control action to the independent self construals and the life satisfaction.7) the dependent self construals had the forward influence on the life satisfaction, and the instrumental support existed the negative control action to the dependent self construals and the life satisfaction. |
