Mo Yan has begun his writing career and become famous since the eighties, he has devoted to writing for30years. Up to now, he has created eleven full-length novels, more than twenty novellas and eighty short stories. He is definitely regarded as one of the most prominent novelists in Modern and Contemporary Literature. His works filled with freedom, loneliness and booming feral consciousness of life. His research focused on Narrative Structures, Magical Realism, the Language of the Carnival Harness and his own works. There are few researches about how Mo Yan’s personality and psychology impact his novels from the aspect of Literary Psychology. In fact, his personality and psychology had important influence on his selection of subjects, characters and aesthetics value, and they even decide the entire flow of Mo Yan’s life and writing style of art awareness. Using the theory and method of Literary Psychology, this thesis will initially define Mo Yan’s individual mind, and also analyze the multi-faceted and deep effects of his mind on the works, the writer tried to reveal how deep Mo Yan’s personal character effects his thought and art works, there out, find out Mo Yan’s real life in the novels so that we can get closer to him and have better understanding of him.This thesis is made up of three parts. The first part is about the formation of his character from the aspects of biological inheritance and culture edification, and thus initially define Mo Yan’s individual mind. The second part is to analyze the multi-faceted effects of his mind on the works. The third part is to analyze the deep effect on his novels from the aspects of his awareness of tragedy, freedom and loneliness in the life. The conclusion part summarizes Mo Yan’s status in literature history and point out further research prospects of his novels from the aspect of Literary Psychology.
