The translation of children’s literature has developed vigorously since1980s.We can findmany Chinese versions of Children’s literary works written in different languages. In order to letChinese children readers appreciate more excellent children’s literary works and promotecultural communication with other countries, the writer attaches great importance to thetranslation of children’s literature. The author chose the Children’s book Burly&Grum and theSecret City as the source text of this translation practice and then discussed the translationstrategies of children’s literary works. Meanwhile, the author wrote a translation report, hoping itcan have an important effect on the later translation of children’s literature.This report includes five parts. The first part introduces the source and content of translationtext; the second part describes detailed translation process, including preparation, translation andmodification; the third part introduces the Skopos theory, which is the guiding theory of thetranslation of children’s literature, and the features and translation principles of children’sliterature; the fourth part analyzes the problems in the process of translation from the lexical andrhetorical level and the inverted sentence and puts forward the translation strategy ofdomestication; the fifth part is the conclusion of this report.
