Jin Rongzhi, who is honored as one of the three founding members of contemporary novels of Chinese Korean nationality, contributed a lot to the writing of Chinese Korean nationality novels and the establishment and development of their tradition, especially to the novels which were written on the subject of Korean nationality’s history. In the six years after1980, he created plenty of works, including two novels, four medium-length novels.This thesis is divided into five parts, including introduction, three chapters, and conclusion. Introduction sketches out the theoretical assumption, the present research result of Hong Mingxi’s novel, Lin Juzheng, and Jin Rongzhi’s novel.Hong Mingxi’s novel Lin Juzheng is a novel which reflects Li Dynasty in North Korean. This thesis comparatively analyzes the characters in Hong Mingxi’s and Jin Rongzhi’s novels, the meaning and influences to the creation of Chinese minorities’ novels.In1980s, Korean literary and art circle began to study on Hong Mingxi’s Lin Juzheng. The previous scholars only studied on Lin Juzheng alone, or compared it with Water Margin. But there were few scholars who studied on comparison of characters in Hong Mingxi’s Lin Juzheng (Chapter Fengdan) and Jin Rongzhi’s Craftsman Liu’s son-in-law.Lin Juzheng was written in1930s, while Craftsman Liu’s Son-in-law was in1980s. So whether Jin Rongzhi was influenced by Lin Juzheng is still a question.This thesis aims at analyzing the two novels’ writing purposes and the character’s visualization, and further analyzes the shaping of North Korean’s soul, the character, Fengdan, and the combination of the two characters.
