Vallejo, a Peruvian Avant-grade poet who was considered as the most influential figure of the20th century in Spanish poetry. He broke up the traditional structure of language and the logic of thinking, objecting to pure meditation, combining avant-gardism and indigenism together. He demonstrated a kind of empathy of his own style and a completely new conception of aesthetics which was full of tension in Latin America. In addition, he intiated a new period of Avant-gardism of Latin America even the world.Not limited in either abstract imageries, or Avant-grade techniques, Vallejo’work lays lots of emphasis on our life. As a practice to return to social reality, Vallejo’s "empathy " presents the unique reflection of pain in human nature in modern society, the sensitivity to politics, the desire for freedom in Latin-American literature. Alth--ough he never regarded himself as an avant-grade poet, he is a real master of Avant-grade poems.As the representative of Avant-grade poetry, Vallejo’s work is completely hard to understand, the author try to take eympathy as starting point, text analytic method as research method, existing Chinese version and English version of his work as research object, from The characteristics, origins, development to present ways of his poems, Having a better understanding of Vallejo’s emotional foundation and connotation in his work. In addition, this analysis try to inquire how to remain and display local poetry’s characteristic in the process of literary modernization.
