Female novels in1930s show the distinct characteristics of the times based on theinfluence of the social and historical environment in the meantime. However, the literarycreation of the female writers also display the different value orientations because of thedifferent background and life experience. But anyway, family and body are always thetwo basis points of gender consciousness writing. The present thesis regards the femalenovels in1930s as the core research object, takes family and body as the starting pointsand analyzes the writing of gender consciousness of this period minutely and objectively.In view of the complexity and hugeness of the system of modern literature and genderculture, this article starts from the discussion of “gender”,“gender consciousness” and“gender consciousness of female”, takes the lead in raveling out conceptual problems instudy and then opens the exploration of the gender consciousness in Chinese modernliterature. The enlightenment of “May4th” male writers and the “appearing” practice ofcontemporaneous female writers are the precondition of reaching and deepening ofgender consciousness writing. The concentrated reflection of the resisting spirit of “theother” under the perspective of “Family” and “Body” is the spiritual foundation ofauthoresses who get the writing performance. On the one hand, the expansion and rise ofthis kind of resisting spirit is closely related to the failure of the Great Revolution inChina. On the other hand, it represents overlapping thought of women about “Family”and “Body” in front of the environment of cruel reality.Family is the insoluble contemplating of authoresses all the time in the field of femalewriting. Different family values bring difference of the gender consciousness writing.While, the generation of family value is affected by historical environment, genderattribute and the background of writers. The roles that women take on in the family livesreflect the marcato discrimination about the women’s social status of female writers in1930s.“Daughter” becomes the forerunner who fights against the rigid filial piety culturehereof.“Mother” also changes to be the fosterer who overthrows conventionaleducational idea. Whereas “wife” often reduces to the stagger in the silent time who hasthe aspiration of breaking through the imprisoned obeisance culture and even practices. The observation of body reflects the gender price in1930s female novels in effect.Bodies of women are not only the treasure of writing, but also bring writers the hesitationof expression. When we interpret the bodies of female novels, we should gaze at thenumerous properties and characters which women’s bodies contain and we also need toconsider specific existing modality of bodies which are regarded as the written objects inthe literary works deliberately. Female desire is a kind of the instinct of women’s bodiesand it should be envisaged. Sexual desire and the desire of beauty are the bestoutstanding in gender tendentiousness.Female novels in1930s make a great contribution in the long history and the echo loud.The undercurrent postures of gender consciousness translate to two basic developmentaltrajectories. One is the core abidance and form refurbishment of traditional family values.The other is the extreme trends and influence extension of body discourse. The formershows the emotional tendency of female novels in the creating of story atmosphere andthe spiritual self dissecting of female groups. The latter embodies two opposite writingintention: the fact of political binding of bodies and the absolutely speaking for sex ofbodies.On the surface, the considering values of gender consciousness of female novels in1930s represents the discussion of sense of social responsibility of authoresses as writers.In essence, it is the seeking of gender dysphoria of authoresses as women. To be specific,there is a conflict between the national consciousness of female writers and their genderposition. Besides, a huge divide of thought and life between city women and ruralwomen deepen the difficulties in gender consciousness expression of authoresses.Nevertheless, if we rethink maverick ideology and awkwardness, we will find that femalenovels in1930still not get rid of the depending on the male world. This kind ofdepending not only shows the revolt against the masculine hegemony on which femalegroup insist long time, but also contains constructing a world which can contend with themale world by desex-uation or unisex of female. Authoresses should put these intopractice and build a confident gender expression system.
