Xinjiang is a multi-ethnic area, where the culture of Uighur ethnic is the most prominent characteristics. The development of Chinese painting art in Xinjiang is affected by regional differences and underdeveloped economy and culture, which is in a backward stage of the country. After the liberation of Xinjiang, the new forces represented by Gong Jianxin began to revive the freehand figure painting of Xinjiang, so the paintings of ethnic customs as a theme extended to the whole country, Xinjiang freehand figure paintings gradually developed. This paper takes Gong Jianxin as the theme and the ecological development of Xinjiang freehand figure painting as the research object, takes the historical conditions, cultural context, composition of group, Venation of development as background. This paper takes Gong Jianxin as the study case and explores the formation of figure painting characteristics, the deeply research of creative theme, the development and achievements of Xinjiang freehand figure painting. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the current status of Xinjiang ethnic art, sum up experience and explore the possibility of its inheritance and sustainable development, then make the development of ethnic cultural better and enrich ink figure painting style of Xinjiang.
