The Materialized And Surmount Of Chinese Spiritual Life During The New Period

For a long time, the materialized condition of spiritual life becomes the concerned topic for all human beings. At new period, the topic is much focused till now. Since China entered the period of reform and opening up, namely, the new period, the spiritual life has increasingly become a problem. On the one hand, we delight ourselves with today’s highly abundant material world. On the other hand, we also feel frustrated for unexpected spiritual poverty, spiritual collapse, spiritual injure and spiritual abnormality. Therefore, to get out of the materialized dilemma of the spiritual life has become an important issue that must be solved in the new period.The thesis opens up the discussion following the thought of discovering problems-analyzing problems-solving problems. It is structured by path of what the materialization and the materialized manifestation of spiritual life are, why materialized condition of the spiritual life appears and how to find out a way to surpass the materialized condition from spiritual life itself.In the first part, with reference to the expounding of the spiritual life from scholars at home and abroad and from Marxist classics, the writer elaborates the connotation, basic components as well as influence factors of the spiritual life, laying the foundation for the further analysis of the causes of materialization. Then, the writer discusses the materialization of the spiritual life.The second part includes two aspects of content. One is the description of the materialization phenomenon; the other is the analysis of the cause of materialization. In the new period, the materialization of the spiritual life mainly performs in materialism and non-rationalization of mental disposition, unidirection and identity crisis of culture, as well as secularization of beliefs and utilitarianism of value orientation. The root of the materialization of the spiritual life lies in the changes of the survival mode and cultural environment in the new period.In the third part, upon surpassing the materialized condition of the spiritual life, it points out the severity of the materialization of the spiritual life and also puts forward the possible surpassing path. The preceding parts of the text indicate that the changes of the survival mode and cultural environment are the main causes of the materialization of the spiritual life. The source of the survival mode lies in the change of the material life, which is difficult to change in a short time. Therefore, the writer probes into the path to surpass the materialized condition from the perspective of the independence of spiritual life compared with the material life. Culture is the most important carrier of the spiritual life, which is also an essential source for the spiritual life to obtain rich content. Therefore, combining the concrete social reality in China in the new period, the writer discusses the surpassing path of the spiritual life from three aspects of socialist cultural self-consciousness, cultural self-confidence and cultural self-improvement.
