Masked Transposition Priming Effects In Different Familiarity Chinese

In order to discuss the specialty of word process in Chinese，this research explored theproblem that what role the Chinese character positional information played during thelanguage processing, and investigated whether, how and when the familiarity affected theposition or identity information process. This study was draw some lessons from thetransposition-letter effect study which based on alphabet language, and established a newperspective on the processing mechanism of Chinese word recognition.The study involved two parts: processing transposed four Chinese character strings;processing transposed four-character Chinese words.Experiment at high and low familiarity of two different environments, starting with thethree stimulus conditions (itself priming, transposition priming, alternative priming) to primethe target word, using the same and different matching task, to investigate the locationinformation processing Features in the character string recognition. It was found that thepriming conditions in the reaction and error indicators had the significantly main effects, inthe same and different matching task, there was a characters of masked transposition primingeffects. The main effect of familiarity showed marginally significant. The interaction betweenthe start condition and familiarity was not significant.A second experiment of programs with the same first one, but the stimulate materialreplaced by four Chinese words for the character string, further verify the presence of Chinesecharacters transposition effect, and examines the characteristics of the location informationprocessing in the Chinese context presents conditions. The results showed that, in terms ofmaterial with the same four-different matching task, there were also characters maskedtransposition priming effects, in the reaction and the error rate index, the main effect of thestart condition is remarkable, itself priming and transposition priming with alternative priminghad a significant difference, and the difference between itself priming and transpositionpriming was not significant. The familiarity of Main effects and interactions between primingand familiarity was not significant.Basing on the study result, some inclusions could be come to:(1) Masked transposition priming effect found in the character string processing, andhigh familiar stimuli than low familiar stimuli are more prone to priming effect. In theprocessing of Chinese four words also found a masked transposition priming effect, thecontext may contribute to brain of the characters position information of encoding.(2) When the brain during visual recognition, the character string or four words in themiddle position of character is flexible. The exchange intermediate position not affect normalbrain processing of character string or four words. Character position information processing is flexible. The flexibility of location information encoded in the early processing of Chinesecharacters has emerged.
