Healthy personality is the healthy and coordinated development of eachpersonality dimension in personality structure, which is the focus of positivepsychology. People who possess the healthy personality have a correct outlook on lifeand values, and will better meet the needs of modern society. Personality of juniorhigh school students has not been established and is of strong plasticity. Trains for thethird grade students to develop a sound personality can help them better face theentrance examination and prepare adapting to high school life. Combined with thecharacteristics of third grade students, this study work out the objective of healthypersonality training, according to which we design a set of effective and rationaltraining programs to promote the development of healthy personality.This article includes two studies:Study1: According to the requirements of the "Guidelines for School MentalHealth Education (2012Amendment)", as well as the results of the questionnaire andliterature analysis we set the objective of the healthy personality training, which is notonly in line with the characteristics of junior high students, but also with therequirements and expectations of their teachers and parents. Furthermore, we developa set of programs for sound personality development based on the objective.Study2: Selecting a the third grade class form of a middle school in Dalian Cityas the experimental class and another as the contrast, we investigate the effect of thehealthy personality development programs on the students in the experimental class.Conclusions: Scores of students in the experimental class in pro-social,intelligent features, carefully controlling, extraversion dimensions were significantlyimproved after the education field experiment and emotional stability dimensionremained stable, compared to the four scores remained stable, while emotionalstability dimension significantly declined. Emotional stability in experimental classwas not significantly improved but it was well controlled, which indicated that theeducation field experiment played a role on the students of experimental class. Aftercomparison of the differences in the test scores before and after the experimentbetween two classes, we found that the test score difference of experimental class wassignificantly higher than the control class. Therefore, we can say that the healthypersonality training program for the third grade junior high school students isreasonable and effective.
