The Theory Of Characters Of Tie Ning’s Fiction

Tie Ning is the most important female writer in Chinese contemporary literature.Her works，especially novel，have her own features and occupy a very importantposition in Chinese contemporary literary．From the first published work FlyingSickle to the novel Stupid Flower in2006，her works won many awards．In each work,she shows readers numerous iconic, vivid and lifelike characters; also lets the readerssee a creative and varied Tie Ning.In the1980s, there were the stream of consciousness novel, reflection novels,Pioneer novels and Xun Gen literature. However, Tie Ning didn’t write stories in thelarge number of novels and literature. Although no matter in content or in forms, TieNing’s innovative novels have always maintained its own unique distinctivepersonality. As a representative of women writers, on the one hand, Tie Ning’s novelswith strong female image representation, and aroused the concern of scholars andresearchers; on the other hand, in her eyes of the male images are attractive. Tie Ningthrough these kinds of characters to reveal and develop the changes of the times.Therefore, this article attempts to analyze Tie Ning’s creation methods in theperspective of characters. The thesis is divided into three parts:The first part: To introduce the theory of the formation of Tie Ning’s writingstyle, and find the reasons of characters’ transformation.The second part: To analyse of female image in Tie Ning’s novels. There arekindhearted and innocent girls, mature and calm mother images, despicable uglyimage of women and complex and typical urban women’s images in her novels. Byanalyzing these four characteristics, Tie Ning shows us the methods from sentimentalto mature.The third part: We focus on the “effect on the social background” male images,the "model" male images, the "flesh and blood" male images, and the "ideal" maleimages. By analyzing theses images and find the differences between the men andwomen, in order to know the regulations of these changes.
