A Study On Xian Furen Belief In Hainan Xipo

This article was launched in the base of field investigation and literature analysis method in order to study the Xian Furen belief in Hainan Xipo. The paper first introduces the history, origin, development, festival ceremony activities and the present situation of Xian Furen belief in Xipo, then the author aimed at throught this case study to probe and analyzes the characteristics and modern changes of Xian Furen belief. This article is divided into six sections:Part one:Introduces the reasons why chose this topic, significance, literature review and research methods.Part two:this part is the general overview of the town, including the environment of geography, economy and the background of culture in Xipo.Part three:this part first introduces the origin and general situation of the belief of Xian Furen in Hainan, then combined with local literature and related legends to introduces and analyzes in detail the history, development and characteristics of Xian Furen belief in Xipo.Part four:this part is make a general overview of JUNPO festival in the town and analyzes organization, preparation, festival ceremony activities to discusses the cause of the popularity of the Xian furen belief, also analyzes the functions of the faith.Part five:this part first introduces the changing of Xian Furen belief since the period of reform and opening up especially change into ’Xian Furen Culture Festival’in contemporary performance and then it’s reasons to be analyzed, Including the organizational management, customs, folk psychology.The sixth part is the conclusion, Through the above five parts research, Proposed must pay attention to the important role of folk beliefs in public life played. if someone ignore that and adopted a confrontational attitude to that will not help solve the "superstition" problem, but will does give "superstitious" activities leave room for maneuver. Only by fully understanding the demands of the villagers that folk beliefs reflected, It may be better to bring forth the new through the old and to carry forward the excellent traditional culture of folk.
