Mr. Pan Xirougraduated from Central Art Academy Eastern BranchSculpture Dept,1958.(now it became China Art Academy SculptureDepartment) He was one of the first groups of young sculpture artists whosupported by the nation. During50years of his art life, each period camewith different styles, as in each, he used distinctive expressions fromvarious categories and contributed huge impaction to China. This essaydemonstrates to discuss Mr. Pan Xirou‘s art works from1954up to now,using creating time and categories as index. It contains four parts basedon themes and styles through his continuous working stages.Part One: Discussed about the research contexts, objects andmeanings.Part Two: Generally introduced Mr. Pan Xirou’s life experiences,especially his art life.Part Three: More studies on Mr. Pan Xirou’s sculpture styles throughhis ‘Non-subjective’ free style creation and its aesthetic value.Part Four: Analysed and compared Mr. Pan Xirou’s sculpture stylesand features in public sculptures creation.From studying Mr. Pan Xirou’s sculpture art, finding theinspirations of modern China’s sculpture art development, I genuinelythink that from a reflective prospect with a good academic foundation isvital for the sculptural studies and creating at present, along withcorresponding discussions.
