Painting artists ego itself is a kind of expression, and the self-portraitas a special form of painting, particularly close relationship with theartists themselves. Since the Renaissance humanism is widely spread,self-portrait became an independent painting form in art stage, its charmlies in: self portrait artists in the creation process itself is a selfreview and reevaluation of the behavior of its embodiment of artisticconception is irreplaceable by other forms of painting, it is like a mirror,to reproduce the artist’s mental outlook and living conditions, as weunderstand the artist’s effective way.The first chapter of the article mainly for clues briefly describes theorigin and development of self-portrait, and explains in improving socialenvironment driven by ego plays the key role in the development ofself-portrait. The second chapter starting from the psychologicalcomposition of the ego, according to the artist self focus on mentalconsciousness of the formation of his personality, and the self-portraitplayed a guiding role in the process of creation to clarifyself-consciousness the uniqueness and significance in the self-portraitis created. Innovation to the self-portrait works present a differentperformance form is divided into three types, namely self, self experiencerespectively and self-regulation, attached to the artist’s self-portraitworks as an example, respectively on the characteristics of the threedifferent forms of self-portrait, used to guide future painting creation.
