Impression management, also called self-presentation.It refers to a process thataffects the self-impression through certain way. Where there is social, there isimpression management. Impression management is more common in the interview,the purpose is to get a praise of the judges, to stand out in an interview. The pastresearch on the management impression in the interview, in almost all the traditionalforms of "question and answer" interview. In recent years, assessment center, such asleaderless group discussion, in recruitment increasing frequency of use, so the themeof this study is to investigate the behavior of impression management candidates inthe leaderless group discussion.This study consists of three parts: the preparation of the Impression Managementin leaderless group discussion questionnaire; Impression management presentsituation of college students in leaderless group discussion, and its relationship withgender, achievement motivation research; Candidates impression managementstrategies impact leaderless group discussed assessment score. Based on thetheoretical analysis and interviews, Build a general model of impression managementstrategy in leaderless group discussion, prepared a questionnaire about the impressionmanagement strategies in leaderless group discussion; By using the method ofscenario simulation experiment and reference Ye Ren Min "achievement motivationscale", Explores the relationship between achievement motivation and impressionmanagement in leaderless group discussion, and the relationship between impressionmanagement strategies and the evaluation score in leaderless group discussion.The results of this study indicate that:(1) In the leaderless group discussion, the candidate most commonly usedbehavioral finishing impression management strategies, compliance perspective,self-elevation, lifting others and rationalize reasons;(2) The college students in leaderless group discussion is used in impressionmanagement strategies at the medium high level; And in the leaderless groupdiscussion, impression management behavior of women is significantly higher thanmen’s impression management;(3) In the leaderless group discussion, high achievement motivation candidates impression management behaviors were higher than the low achievement motivationimpression management behavior;(4) Candidates modest impression management behavior help improve candidatesevaluation score in the leaderless group discussion, but excessive and too littleimpression management behavior will reduce the candidate leaderless groupdiscussion evaluation score.
