The economic globalization promotes the culture exchanges and contributes to the culture development worldwide. While vigorously learning from the foreign advanced ideas and concepts, people in China are also paying more efforts in protecting their national and regional culture. Huxiang Culture is a branch of traditional Chinese Culture. Like other regional culture, Huxiang Culture has a long history and it is rich in content. The unique historical and cultural background enables Huxiang Culture has an obvious regional characters, for instance, there are some famous mottos as the "Application of thoughts and knowledge","Seeking for truth" and "Be open in mind and tolerant to all things" in Huxiang Culture. Sometimes people say the people of Hunan are "stubborn" in character."Among the most renowned individuals in Chinese modern history, half of which came from Hunan." Influenced by the lofty ideas of Huxiang Culture, the people of Hunan made great achievements in different fields. In the new century, facing new problems and new challenges, people are also trying to get some enlightenment from Huxiang Culture, and people are thinking how to protect and develop Huxiang Culture in the new century.The Reception Aesthetics Theory focused on the importance of readers in literary development and studies the process of how literary work was accepted. Based on the theory, the thesis studied the difficult points of the translation:how to translate the culture loaded words, the Chinese sentences, the news headlines and the style of articles. The thesis also analyzed the translation process. In the first part of the article, the thesis made a general introduction of the backgrounds, purpose and the materials of the translation. Introducing Chinese Culture to foreigners could let people know gain a more comprehensive knowledge about China and bring more communications both in quality and quantity. It can also gave us a chance to learn our own culture. The second chapter is the record of translation process of this article, the thesis also made a brief review of Reception Aesthetics Theory. The process could be divided in to three parts as pre-translation part, translation and the modification of the translation. Based on the translation, the thesis described the enlightenments by the theory:the translator should revise the translation according to the reading abilities and reading expectations of the readers. The third part of the thesis analyzed the difficult points of the translation and provided some methods. The thesis introduced the translation methods for the culture loaded words. The article believed that the translator should manage to introduce more exotic culture elements to the foreign readers as long as the translation work could be understand by the readers. In the process of translation, the writer could provide more background knowledge to the readers to assist them to gain a comprehensive understanding of the translation work. As for the translation of sentences, the translator could adopt methods as adjusting the structures or orders of sentences and adding the subjective part into the sentences and so on, so as to make the translation work become more easily accepted by readers. Moreover, the thesis believed that the translator should notice the characters of different kinds of articles, and make necessary adjustments according to the requirements of new headlines. Finally, the thesis believed the translator should revise the language style and register of the translation work according to the original context.The writer made a conclusion of the translation in fourth part of the thesis. As a branch of traditional Chinese Culture, the Huxiang Culture shares the same essence with Chinese Culture, and it also has unique regional characters. So while translating the articles about Huxiang Culture, first the translator should be fully aware of the reading expectation and reading abilities of readers; on the other hand, in order to improve the quality of the translation work, the translator should revise the translation work according to the backgrounds, language structures, styles of the original text.The writer tried to make analysis of the examples of translation cases in this thesis, and to conclude some useful methods for the Translation of Rambling about the Huxiang Culture. The writer also hoped that this thesis could be helpful for the translation of the same kind and the intercultural communication of Huxiang Culture.
